Anthony Mackie is in talks to star with Chris Evans in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it is likely he will play Sam Wilson aka Falcon in the Captain America sequel.
Falcon has the distinction of being the first African-American superhero to appear in a mainstream comic, who made his debut in the Captain America comics back in 1969. His powers include being able to communicate with birds and to see through their eyes. He can also fly with the help of his powered suit.
Based on the movie's title, THR surmises that the storyline in the sequel will involve a former sidekick of Captain America's named Bucky. Presumed dead after a fight during WWII, Bucky returns in the present day as a brainwashed KGB agent.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is to be directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo for a April 4, 2014 release. Chris Evans will return to reprise his role as Captain America.
With the movie in the casting stages, it means the movie may begin production later this year or early next.
