Truth of faith is God's gift, Pope says at close of annual seminar : News

CWN - September 03, 2012

The annual meeting of the Ratzinger Sch?lerkreis--the seminar bringing together former theology students of Pope Benedict XVI?ended on September 2 with a Mass celebrated by the Pontiff at the Mariapoli Centre in Castel Gandolfo.

This year?s meeting of the seminar discussed ecumenism. In his homily at the closing Mass the Pope emphasized that the Church receives the truth as a gift from God, not as the product of any human wisdom. ?There is no room for triumphalism of any kind,? he said; ?but only for joy and gratitude at the gift we have received, a gift we did not create.?
