Showtime
"Homeland" and "Masters of Sex"
Showtime has ordered additional seasons of Homeland and Masters of Sex. The duo will return in 2014 for their respective fourth and second seasons, each with an order for 12 episodes.
Currently averaging a respective 6.5 million and 5.4 million viewers, Homeland is up from last season (26 percent) and Masters of Sex is up 33 percent from Homeland's average in the same time slot during its freshman run. Debuting the final run of Dexter earlier in the summer, Showtime shifted Homeland to the 9 p.m. hour to anchor its new Sunday lineup and provide a lead-in for Masters of Sex.

"Homeland continues to prove its strength for Showtime and is one of television's most exciting, provocative and widely discussed shows. It has grown its audience significantly in each of its three seasons," said Showtime entertainment president David Nevins. "The critical and audience reaction to Masters of Sex since its great launch has been incredibly gratifying. It's a privilege to get to work with such talented and creative people as Alex Gansa and Michelle Ashford, as well as their tremendous casts. They have each created truly original shows, with distinctive voices that are among the most admired series on television."
The renewals come after Showtime bid farewell to both Dexter and The Big C this past season. On the development side, the premium cable network has horror drama series Penny Dreadful set for 2014 and hourlong pilots The Affair with Joshua Jackson and The Vatican starring Kyle Chandler. On the comedy side, the network is developing Trending Down with Philip Seymour Hoffman. Showtime renewed freshman drama Ray Donovan for a second season this summer.
With Dexter off the air, Homeland now ranks as Showtime's top original series.
