Facebook To Launch An Operating System? (Rumor)

Expansion seem to be the only motive of the tech companies nowadays, therefore all are trying to go for that part of the tech world for which they were not created. Although?Facebook is a social networking site but there have been rumors for around two years that Facebook is going to launch a smartphone but these rumors have been directly denied by everyone at Facebook ? including Mark Zuckerberg himself ? several times. However, the question then arises that if nothing new is coming then why is Facebook holding an event on Tuesday? Well, there exists a rumor that Facebook is going to launch a but is a?new Operating System! Lets checkout the details.

This rumor has been drawn out by?columnist?M.G. Siegler of Techcrunch, who said he has been receiving reports that the company is going to announce a phone (Operating System?) of some sort next week. Focus on the words ?some sort?, this might mean a new hardware but more specifically a Facebook operating system.

If it?s a hardware that Facebook is going to announce then maybe?HTC will collaborate with the social network to launch one but we don?t think so. So take this with a pinch of salt. But it has been reported many times that Facebook might introduce ?something? with HTC sooner than later. Considering Facebook has no background of producing smartphones so there might be a possibility.

But an Operating System from Facebook seem to have a greater possibility, as it?would be a fork of Android which will allow it to run hundreds of thousands of apps already out there. And if we check from where Facebook got the inspiration than the answer lies with Amazon. Amazon has got quite a success doing this with their Kindle Fire tablets. The second option can be?webOS and third can be?Facebook to build its own OS from scratch.

But none of these rumors seem to be strong enough to make a specific conclusion. So let?s wait until Tuesday and see what new will ?things? Facebook will bring to its users.

What do you think?
