Are you ready?
From the sound of the campsites last night, the tens of thousands of fans already gathered here in Le Mans sure are. The Monster Energy Grand Prix de France is primed for its showdown as round four of the MotoGP World Championship clicks into gear with FP3 and Qualifying all set to go down at the Bugatti Circuit later today.
The festivities have been underway for a couple of days now though. Thanks to the holiday this Thursday, the noise and atmosphere was building well ahead of any bikes departing pit lane yesterday morning. Over in the Monster Energy Compound the public have already had a glimpse of the type of show they?re in for this weekend, as some of the most diverse and angry machinery we could round up has been wheeled out in front of the raucous crowds.
Turns out flaming exhausts will be a feature both on and off the track this weekend, although Girls firing sling-shots of swag into the crowd still isn?t a sight track-side. We?re working on it though.
Thursday night saw the Mini Texas Tornado Boot Camp put on in tribute to a missing hero: Colin would?ve loved to see the likes of the Nietos dice it out again, plus the party atmosphere around the Compound as our media event gathered the paddock for the sake of great music, a healthy dose of competition, and the chance to shoot the breeze with our riders.
Valentino was there to give a live interview, the webcast over www.motogp.com/en/AskValentino where fans submitted questions to The Doctor through social media.
Look around the paddock this morning though and the game?s changed as the gladiators of their sport get ready to put it on the line for the sake of grid positions. Over in the public area though, you can count on the Monster Energy Compound firing out tunes and whole load more as we bring the show to the fans.
Enjoy the show and stay tuned for a special guest announcement.
