Event date:
2012-06-04 The Tenth International Conference on Wired and Wireless Internet Communications will take place from 4 to 6 June 2012 in Santorini, Greece.
The internet is extending beyond its traditional boundaries by gradually incorporating a wide-range of networks and autonomous devices, ranging from traditional wireless networks to opportunistic networks of mobile devices in urban environments and deep-space communications. This expansion, though, requires an efficient merging with traditional wired infrastructure.
Novel all-weather protocols, clean-slate and evolutionary architectures, merging and assembling different network technologies, unified operation and management of the heterogeneous components and new multimedia services are all examples of the wide range of technologies building this new global network.
The conference will present research in the field of global internetworking, and provide a framework for research cooperation through focused discussions that will designate future research efforts and directions. While the programme will highlight such areas such as delay- and disruption-tolerant networks (DTNs) and opportunistic networks, other topics will include:
- cloud and data centre computing;
- content-centric networking;
- green networking;
- network mobility and mobility management;
- cross layer design and optimisation;
- economical issues of challenging networks;
- traffic engineering;
- integration of wired and wireless networks;
- modeling of heterogeneity aspects;
- network design and network planning;
- space internetworking;
- mobile service level agreements and specifications;
- technologies beyond 3G networks;
- traffic characterisation and modeling.
