The best in Canadian brands and talent are set to converge at the BC Home?and Garden Show starting Wednesday February 20. The show offers five days of insight and inspiration for making any house a home ? both inside and out. Headlining this year?s show are HGTV?s most recognized personalities including Bryan Baeumler of Leave It to Bryan, Decked Out host Paul Lafrance, and local realtors Philip DuMoulin?and Sarah Daniels of Urban Suburban, plus sewing expert Denise Wild and Vancouver interior design duo Jennifer Scott?and Megan Baker, all of whom will appear on the HGTV Main Stage. The BC Home?and Garden Show has been a staple in consumers? calendars since 1970, attracting over 56,000 qualified visitors every spring. Produced by Marketplace Events, the show features high-interest exhibits, high-profile industry personalities and the latest home and lifestyle trends. Spring cleaning takes on a whole new meaning with inspiration from Canada?s top design, renovation and real estate experts on the HGTV Main Stage. Armed with ample anecdotes, ideas from past projects and plenty of experience, live presenters include HGTV?s Bryan Baeumler, Paul Lafrance, and Philip DuMoulin?and Sarah Daniels, plus sewing expert Denise Wild, interior designers Jennifer Scott?and Megan Baker, and representatives from the Greater Vancouver Home Builders? Home Cooking Stage
Familiar fare is off the table at the Home Cooking Stage, where popular chefs like Ned Bell, Chuck Currie and Victor Bongo, plus grill masters Ron ?Rockin? Ronnie? Shewchuk, Brian Misko and Angie Quaale, will dish out their personal recipes for easy family meals and entertaining. Think all things spring, from BBQ and beer pairings to comfort food and healthy recipes, infused with local flavours and contemporary trends that easily transfer to any home kitchen.
The Vancouver Sun Gardeners School
Growing pains will be a thing of the past, thanks to The Vancouver Sun Gardeners School. Led by respected writer Steve Whysall and his team of gardening gurus, each free seminar will have wannabe green thumbs getting down and dirty as they cover topics from seed planting to composting. Dig in!

Opening Night
The BC Home and Garden Show kicks off on Wednesday February 20 with a night of perks, refreshments and entertainment tailored to every designing woman. Start at the Home Cooking Stage and catch the SHAW Cooking with Fire Chili Cook-off, featuring the kitchen talents of firefighters from across the Lower Mainland, then stick around for a ladies-only beer tasting seminar presented by Just Here for the Beer. SHAW Cooking with Fire Chili Cook-off
Taste buds will be set ablaze on Wednesday February 20, starting at 6:00 pm on the Home Cooking Stage. Three firefighter duos from SHAW?s Cooking with Fire will reconvene for an end-of-season rematch, as they concoct their best chili recipe in hot pursuit of bragging rights and a $1,000 donation to the community organization of their choice. Hosted by SHAW?s Melanie Pineda and Global BC?s Kaitlin Herbst, and judged by a noteworthy panel of foodies, this is one competition that?s guaranteed to sizzle!
Family Day presented by Dominion Lending Centre
Calling all parents and little ones! Family-friendly fare is the focus at the BC Home and Garden Show?s first annual Family Day on Thursday February 21 from 12:00 pm (noon)?to 5:00 pm Faceaballoonza! and Vancouver Mom?will be on-hand to offer up face painting and easy art projects, while moms and dads alike can glean ideas for everything from cooking and gardening with the kiddies to family-friendly design and the latest children?s fashion trends.
Spring Fashion Show
Every home renovation has to include the closets. Garner inspiration at the Spring Fashion Show on Saturday February 23, starting at 2:00 pm on the HGTV Main Stage. Models and dancers will hit the runway to showcase the season?s top trends from Park Royal retailers, complete with coveted gift bags and a $250 shopping spree giveaway.
Deck Wars
HGTV?s Deck Wars goes live on Saturday February 23 at 4:00 pm, with popular host Paul Lafrance weighing in on a battle of the blades ? blades of grass, that is! It?s a battle royale of all things backyard!
