Visit 23 Museums and Zoos Free With Google Field Trip App

Google wants you to go on a field trip this summer.

If you have Google?s Field Trip app installed on your phone, you can get free admission at 23 of the nation?s best museums and zoos until the end of July. Options include everything from President Lincoln?s Cottage in Washington D.C. to the Bronx Zoo in New York City.

Google originally launched Field Trip last September. Meant to be a guide to cool stuff and hidden treasures around you, the app runs in the background on your phone, and when it thinks you?re around something interesting, it makes suggestions for places to visit.

If you?re looking for things to do, a map view within the app also helps you find cool places nearby, with categories ranging from Historic Places & Events to Outdoor Art to help you narrow down your search.

When you visit a location, Field Trip provides an information card on the location ? with information from publications such as Zagat, Atlas Obscura, and Thrillist. If you have a Bluetooth headset connected to your phone, it will read that information aloud.

Google began offering free admission to just 13 U.S. museums and zoos in May. The total number of locations grew to 23 this month, when 10 more destinations were added to that list.

To take advantage of the free ticket, download Google Field Trip from the App Store [App Store link] or Google Play [Google Play link], and head out on the town. When you're near one of the attractions included in the offer, a free pass will automatically appear within the Nearby tab, granting you free admission from ticket-takers.
