Atlas Shrugged, Part 1, is out on DVD today

The film version of Ayn Rand?s novel, Atlas Shrugged, Part 1, is out on DVD today. The movie starring Taylor Schilling and Grant Bowler covers the first section of Rand?s tome of a novel. The film was produced independently and did not play in many cities, nor theaters. So today?s release on DVD may be the first opportunity for most people to actually see this important movie. Unrest in the Middle East has caused oil shortages and the price of gasoline is over $37 a gallon. The airline and automobile industries are kaput leaving only the railroads for transcontinental travel. Taylor Schilling plays Dagby Taggart, who struggles to keep her family?s railroad company going despite her brother?s incompetence. Their primary client is Ellis Wyatt, played by Graham Beckel, who has the only real oil producing company left in America, located in Colorado. But he is ready to switch to another railroad for service due to the dilapidated condition of the 100-year old Taggart railway. [...]
