The Business Development Sales Manager role is a unique opportunity to help the Affinity Solutions business unit of Allstate Insurance Company find innovative paths to growth and profitability in the financial industry. They are responsible for prospecting and contracting partnerships to distribute the Allstate product portfolio. This role is charged with developing national sales strategies and a supporting pipeline in order to achieve annual operating sales plan targets.





? Responsible for identifying, engaging, and securing strategic partnerships within the vertical that increase Allstate?s growth across its portfolio of products:

- Independently identify, prospect, negotiate and close agreements with new partners

- Research and identify key prospect decision makers and present appropriate product offerings

- Act as the primary prospect contact, prepare sales materials, conduct market analysis, and assess partnership opportunities

- Engage key stakeholders across the organization for input and decision making throughout business development process


? Work within Business Development team, Marketing, Account Management and other stakeholders to develop customer value proposition, positioning and go-to-market strategy
? Work cross-functionally within Allstate to collaborate with other business units on strategic growth opportunities, ensuring we are bringing all of Allstate?s capabilities to bear

- Manage relationships with industry consultants, completing RFIs/RFPs as needed to support the business development process



? Develop in-depth knowledge of industry trends and key competitors within managed vertical through attending industry related conferences and meetings
? Responsible for negotiating contracts that focus on new sales and installation commitment levels.
? Participate in and manage the partner selection framework and process for specified industry prospects
? Fully meet and/or exceed key sales targets; number of deals closed, growth expectation, quality of the deal
? Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts using SalesForce.com.
? Develop and execute strong partner transition plans from Sales to Relationship Management team

The successful candidate will have a prove track record of sales and program implementations in a high paced business environment as well as the following:


? Proven track record in B2B sales
? Experience in working within managed sales vertical
? Excellent team player (Ability to share and communicate knowledge with team/others)
? Demonstrated analytical skills / comfort with quantitative analysis
? Demonstrated strategic acumen that can be used to evaluate various opportunities
? Ability to manage work and meet specific deadlines, highly organized and self?sufficient
? Ability to work dynamically within a large, matrixed organization; adaptable and flexible
? Highly motivated, influential, and capable of understanding and communicating the strengths of Allstate and its respective businesses
? Highly organized, extremely self?sufficient with high energy and enthusiasm
? Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written, with desire of using both in collaboration with potential partners and internal stakeholders (Possess excellent writing, presentation and preparation skills)
? Capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse set of internal and partner constituencies including senior level executives, developers, and product experts
? Successful track record of influencing business partners and maintaining major relationships at a senior management level in a matrixed organization; relationship management, sales and negotiation skills
? BA required / MBA or equivalent experience preferred
? Insurance industry experience preferred
