Farmers Insurance Open 2013 odds: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson ...

As expected, Tiger Woods opens his 2013 PGA Tour season as the heavy favorite to win for an eighth time at Torrey Pines.

Tiger Woods makes his 2013 PGA Tour debut this week at Torrey Pines, and as expected, the world's No. 2 player is the favorite to open the season with a win. Woods had extra time to travel and prepare for the Farmers Insurance Open, after his stay at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship ended two days early last week.

Woods was penalized two shots for mistakenly taking embedded ball relief from a spot on the course that was determined to be a sandy area. The two-stroke penalty was assessed after the completion of his second round, and it swung him to the wrong side of the cut line.

Now, he debuts stateside at Torrey, a course that he's owned over the years. Woods has won a total of seven tournaments, including a U.S. Open, on the oceanside La Jolla track. That past success makes him a heavy favorite this week, with Brandt Snedeker listed with second-lowest odds.

Local favorite Phil Mickelson has the fourth-lowest odds, according to Bovada. Mickelson struggled a bit in his Tour debut last week in Palm Springs, but he's also intimately familiar with the layout and should be in contention come Sunday.
